Summer life

Kia ora,

Today I have been creating a poem about summer life. My poem is set in my favourite place. Can you guess what it is?

If you were wanting to write a poem I would  suggest writing one about something you know alot about so it's easier to get describing words.

My word cloud

 Kia ora,

Today I have been making a word cloud about the holidays. To create a word cloud you have to  go ona app  to create and write down a set of words that you want to be in it then you choose a shape and the colours you want it to be.

I enjoyed creating my word cloud and I found it realy fun.

Cleaning the storage pile

 Kia ora,

Today I cleaned up are storage pile in the garage and there was so much food there was juce chips and so many cans so once I was finished I decided to write a poem about it.

In my poem I named some of the food I found in the sorge pile.

A picnic outside a graveyard

 Kia ora,

Today I wrote a poem about when I was on my way to Hamilton and we stopped in Rotorua to have a picnic and soon we realised that we were having a picnic at a graveyard.

What's one of the weirdest things you've done before? I know that's close to the top of my list.

Well, I was in Rotorua. I have learnt that roto means lake in mario and I know that rua means two so rotorua means two lakes. I also learnt that there were other places with roto in the name like rotoma white lake and roto ete  small lake.

Today i have been writing poems

To write a poem the first thing you need to do is choose a topic it can be about yourself, your favourite food or even a place or a season.

Once you have chosen your topic you need to think of some word to describe your topic like if it was a dog you might say furry or loyal.

I enjoyed writing poems because I think that it's really fun finding heaps of new words that you can use.

I found it challenging to find a topic for the poem.

A clerihew is a short poem with the first

line  ending with a name.

Today I have been creating a haiku about a forest.

A haiku is a short poem with five snobs in the first line, seven in the second and using five in the third line making a pattern of 5 7 5.

I enjoyed creating my haiku but I found it challenging to get the snoblys right.

My limerick

Today I have been writing a limerick.

A limerick poem is a short poem which is often funny.
To write a limerick poem there are five lines, the first, second and fifth lines should rhyme and the second and third should rhyme.

I enjoyed reading some limerick poems because I found them fun to read.

surfing with the jellyfish

 Kia ora

Today i have been surfing at Makorori beach. 

At the beach there were heaps of weird jellyfish canes and huge jellyfish about the size of both of you. They especially looked very cool because they had little blue strikes coming out of them. 

So inspired by this I have written a poem about it.

For my poem I have picked a background that makes the words stand out on the page.

This was a really fun thing to do because I got to experience what I wrote in my poem myself.

Did you know there are over 50 different types of poems, some of these  are  limerick, a haiku, an acrostic poem and there are so much more

I enjoyed writing poems because I think that it's really cool  learning new words to add in.

How long will it take

 Kia ora,

How long will it take?

How long will it take for that old candy raper you through on the ground to decompose?

Mabey 1 year mabey 5 nope it actually can take up to 20 years for one small candy wrapper to decompose and that's just one candy wrapper amagen how long it would take for a plastic bottle to decompose that can be up to 450 years that 130 more than you can count on your fingers.

So I went down to Midway beach and picked up over 20 pieces of rubis. There were plastic bottles, a bene, some lollie rapper, a packet of chips, a toy car and even a piece of a milk bottle and heaps more stuff.

So next time you go to a piece of rubbish on the ground think is it worth it.

My clerihew

Today I have been learning how to write a clerihew.

My clerihew is about a horse.

Did you know that the clerihew poem was invented by Edmen clerihew bentley; he named the poem after his middle name. A clerihew is a short poem with the first line  ending with a name.

With a quote about summer.For this task to step it up I have created a text graphic using my own image.

You may be thinking, what is a snoozatron?

Well a snoozatron is a machine that helps you sleep or like it says in the name snooze.

My snoozatron has three things to  help you sleep.
